Between July 2021 and July 2022, about 400,000 Americans decided to relocate from other states to Florida. The most notable part of the case is that the majority of the migrants are from other major states in the country, including New York and California.
Although no numbers on the flow of emigrants between 2022 and 2023 are available at this time, the report promises that the tendency of Americans to look for a property in Florida may increase rather than remain the same.
The movement is not accidental. The Sunshine State, as it is sometimes called, has emerged as the new economic engine of the United States, particularly since Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’ decision to keep commercial operations open during the era of the confinements imposed in the midst of Covid-19.
Thus, according to U.S. Department of Labor data, Florida now outnumbers even New York in non-agricultural jobs, with 9,578,500 versus 9,576,100.
Furthermore, Florida leads the country in new business development while also having the lowest unemployment rate.
